Average Popularity of Authorization Objects in User Authorizations
How is it measured?
The average popularity of an authorization object by users can be defined by the number of times the authorization object appears in users’ authorizations. For each object, this measurement shows the percentage of SAP user accounts that have valid values in the authorization object.
In order to calculate this measurement, we take the number of SAP user accounts associated with the authorization object and divide it by the total number of valid SAP user accounts in the system.
Decisions made based on this data are often related to authorization design and re-design phases. More specifically, they determine whether or not to include a specific SAP authorization object in an authorization role.
This also involves the creation of new authorization objects or the usage of existing ones, eliminating existing authorization objects with low popularity, and optimizing the efforts of the security and authorization teams to focus only on effective authorization objects.
