Average Popularity of Authorization Objects in Authorization Roles
What is “Average Popularity”?
The average popularity of an authorization object in roles can be defined by the number of times the authorization object appears in effective authorization roles, which are both active and allocated to user accounts.
Using this measurement – which is based on the static allocation of authorization objects, but without irrelevant data – gives you the ability to make smarter decisions regarding this authorization object’s necessity from a global point of view.
In order to calculate this measurement, we take the number of authorization roles that contain this authorization object and divide it by the total number of roles.
Decisions made based on this data often involve creating new authorization objects, eliminating existing, but unallocated authorization objects, and optimizing the efforts of the security and authorization teams to focus only on effective authorization objects.
