Definition

You can use this authorization object to define authorizations for
individual field groups when maintaining master data. These
authorizations determine which fields in the master data may be
maintained or displayed by a user.
This authorization is optional. It needs not be assigned if there is no
field group that requires special protection and for this reason no
field groups were defined for authorizations in Customizing.
